Regarding PET Sheet

Question: Is the physical state of PET material the same before and after crystallisation? If not, what are the respective states.

Answer: PET materials are usually in an amorphous state, also known as the amorphous or glassy state, before crystallisation. In this state, the molecular chains of PET are relatively disordered.

The transparency of crystallised PET decreases, especially when the degree of crystallinity is high, and the material takes on a milky, non-transparent colour. This is because the presence of crystalline areas scatters light, causing the material to become cloudier.

Question: How to solve the brittle PET sheet?

Answer: First of all, pet sheet brittle may be raw material moisture content is too high, especially recycled material, can be dried by crystallisation to reduce the moisture inside the sheet. Secondly, because the vacuum is not in place, the vacuum degree is not enough, resulting in the water in the sheet is not fully removed, resulting in brittle sheet. Thirdly, the toughness of the sheet can be improved by adding toughening agent.
